Membership
What is the cost?
The cost is $10 per school year and $10 for the Summer.
What is your weekly/monthly fee for after school care?
There is no weekly or monthly fee.
Do you have to maintain a certain income level?
No
Do you provide scholarships for youth or foster youth?
Scholarships are reviewed case by case and are dependent on availability.
Is attendance required?
No, children are not required to come every day. However, we recommend your child come at least three days per week.
Do you provide discounts?
Our fees are structured to be affordable; some Clubs can set up payment plans if necessary. There are no family discounts. The cost is $10 per child.
Can out of state children attend?
Yes.
Do memberships transfer?
No. A fee must be paid at each Club if you transfer your child.
Do you provide meals/snacks?
Yes. We provide a snack and dinner during the school year and during the summer we provide breakfast, lunch, and a snack.
Do you provide transportation?
No.
Are you open during school breaks or holidays?
We follow Akron Public School closings. All Clubhouses are open on school closure days such as parent-teacher conferences, teacher professional days, spring break, winter break, and any other non-weather related district wide closures. Club hours will convert to a 12pm-6pm schedule. Lunch will be provided to Club members from 12:15pm-12:34pm. Club memers arriving between 12:00pm-12:30pm will be served lunch. An afternoon snack will be served at 5:00pm. We are closed on holidays. iStrive Barberton site will vary. Please call us with any questions.
Can my child bring a friend for a day?
No. You must be a Club member to attend.
Programs
Will my child receive one on one tutoring?
All youth are provided homework assistance. Tutoring is on a case by case basis and dependant on volunteers.
How do your sports leagues work?
We offer a basketball league. You must be a member of the Club to participate in a sports league.
Are there programs for specific age groups?
Our programs are age-appropriate and geared to meet the needs and interests of various ages. There are several specific programs for every age, including teen programming. Please see our programs section for a complete breakdown.
Volunteer
I’m interested in volunteering as a parent. How do I do that?
Yes, we would love to have you as a volunteer. Please visit our volunteer page for instructions on how to sign up. You may discuss current opportunities with our Manager of Volunteer Services and then complete the volunteer enrollment process.
Do you accept court ordered volunteers?
No
Can teenagers volunteer?
Yes. You must be at least 16 years old.
Is there a minimum amount of days or hours?
This depends on your availability. To gain the most of your experience, we recommend setting up a schedule conducive to your talent and the Club’s needs.
