The Youth of the Year program is the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premier youth recognition program for Club members. Candidates participating will be judged on written essays, oral presentations and individual interviews. The Youth of the Year program is significant because it celebrates club members service to the Club, community and family; academic performance; moral character; life goals; and poise and public speaking ability. In addition, the program is a year round tool for fostering young people’s character, personal growth and leadership qualities.
The individual selected as the 2009 Youth of the Year will receive a $1,000 scholarship and proceed to the State Competition to contend for another $1,000 scholarship. Good Luck and Congratulations to Retsyn Jackson! Top of page |
